August Monthly Horoscope
August 2017 has the potential for big changes internal and externally. The challenge comes from the multiple retrograde planets that are beginning in August with Uranus on the 3rd and Mercury on the 12th.
Uranus stations retrograde on August 2 until January 2nd 2018. As always, the influence of a planet that is changing direction becomes more central in our experience for at least a week before and a week after the date of its station. For Uranus in independent Aries, this means that we could be aware of an increased restlessness and impatience with anyone or anything that appears to infringe on our individual rights.
The lunar eclipse on Monday August 7, 2017 is at 15° Aquarius. The Aquarius Full Moon on that first Monday of the month is also a lunar eclipse, an event that tends to reveal issues that must be resolved or absorbed into our consciousness in a new way. This Mercury retrograde cycle from the 12th of August to the 5th of September is a particularly powerful and significant one that could lead to changes in your love life or finances. Fear, insecurity, suspicion, lying, deception, fraud and adultery are some of the issues that may arise. Whether you are single or in a relationship, you can expect to be thinking or talking about matters of love and trust. There is no escaping the regal lion this year, as this Mercury retrograde activates the eclipse degree 28º Leo.
The Leo New Moon on the 21st calls forth our leadership, creativity, and passion. This is a rare second consecutive New Moon in Leo, and a total solar eclipse. The Moon’s shadow blocks the light of the Sun, resetting consciousness and opening doors to new realities. All solar and Leonine themes are amplified by the eclipse’s conjunction with Regulus, the heart of the Lion.
