Full Moon in Aquarius

A complex Full Moon in Aquarius brightens the night sky on August 9th - just one day after the powerful Lion’s Gate portal. The energy in the air is still electric; the portals are still open.

What makes this lunation more layered than your typical Aquarian Full Moon - though, make no mistake, Aquarius is always full of contradictions and complexity - is the multitude of aspects its rulers make to other planets.

Saturn, the ancient and original ruler of Aquarius, currently rides at 1° Aries, mere moments away from a conjunction with Neptune - an alignment that will only perfect in 2026.

Nevertheless, this close encounter speaks volumes of what’s to come. It offers a taste of the medicine of the future. After all, Aquarius is the sign associated with tomorrow’s horizon.

This medicine is what we make of it. It can be bitter or sweet, depending on our perspective, our choices.

Our visions are manifesting under the light of this Moon - visions seeded months ago under the Aquarius New Moon. Balance is sought now between our desire to serve the collective - to connect, liberate, and revolutionize - and the real need to honour ourselves, our personal paths, and our individuality. This is the eternal song of the Aquarius–Leo axis.

Saturn and Neptune, on the other hand, remind us to get real about our dreams. To build them on solid ground - lest we find we’ve constructed castles in the sky. Transforming dreams into reality is no mean task. Baby  now, we’ll know where we went wrong and what can be improved.

Uranus - the modern ruler of Aquarius - forms a sextile to Saturn, blending innovation with tradition. The old gods and the new meet to create something utterly original. Aquarius lives for the original.

So, where in your world are you taking an old model and upgrading it? Relationships? Community? Career? Purpose? Passion? These are cosmic opportunities that we get to create. Let’s not miss the moment.

A sextile to Pluto empowers Saturn’s energy. The structures we build - and rebuild - are transformational. We have profound influence over our destiny. ‘You are a survivor, a Dreamer’ whispers this Full Moon. And when we release the dreams and people no longer aligned with us, we create space for even greater alignment.

But there is one caveat: Saturn opposes Mars. This is the classic one foot on the brake, the other on the gas dynamic. There’s a push and pull. Yet oppositions are easier than squares - they offer opportunities to compromise, to meet in the middle. Mars desires action, harmony (in Libra), and approval. Saturn insists we put ourselves first, establish boundaries, and be disciplined. These are polar energies, yes. But when we act with discipline, when we go forward with caution, when we blend the needs of Self and Other - that’s when we are most productive, efficient, and exquisitely polished.

The work has been hard - it has been hard - but this is the moment we can see it all coming together.
