June Monthly Horoscope

After our slow and steady progress we may have made in May with the help of Mercury in Taurus, June allows us to take our progress further and start to understand where we are going and why as Jupiter will finally come out of retrograde on June 9th so all our work and plans with have been working on since February will start to come to fruition.

Warrior Mars battles to ensure that home and family are safe when he enters Cancer on June 4. We’re supersensitive when it comes to feeling that our territory has been invaded, so conflicts may now seem 'too close to home.' Coupled with Cancer’s penchant for having a long memory, unintentional slights may feed into old anger, making us defensive. Still, we become more courageous about expressing our feelings and more willing to act on gut instincts.

The need for clear boundaries becomes a pressing concern with the Full Moon in Sagittarius conjunct Saturn on June 9. The Sagittarius Full Moon can cut through illusion and reconnect us with our truth. The Moon conjoins Saturn, bringing a potentially harsh but useful reality check to the ways we may have fallen out of integrity with our inner faith and ideals.

Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, is the presiding deity of this Full Moon and extra powerful as it stations direct just after the Full Moon peaks. Now it’s time to move forward and harness Jupiter’s potential for growth, expansion, evolution, and positive change. It’s time for new beginnings in partnership, in the creation of art and beauty, and in the movement for peace and justice. Ideally, we come out of Jupiter’s retrograde feeling more balanced and peaceful within ourselves, relying less on the harmony of the people and environment around us in order to determine our inner state of being

Neptune retrograde 2017 starts on 16 June 2017 at 16° Pisces and ends on 22 November 2017 at 11° Pisces. Neptune retrograde 2017 aligns closely with the Moon to make this an especially sensitive time. As well as feeling more emotional and romantic, you may also feel suspicious of others and extremely vulnerable.  Dreams could surface as Neptune’s backward motion breaks the spell to reveal where idealism may have clouded our judgement. When Neptune turns retrograde, our feelings are more astute at picking up and perceiving the illusive. There may be some sorrow at the dissipation of fond wishes, but the Moon’s sextile to Pluto makes us strong enough to release what isn’t working.

The Sun moves into Cancer on June 20 marks the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere — and the winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. In womb-like Cancer, we nurture our inner flame, the divine spark. Our history and heritage shape our identity, so exploring our past and returning to our roots can illuminate hidden facets of our personality.

With the Cancer New Moon square wounded Chiron on June 23, however, we might need to address tender spots in our psyche. Mercury’s conjunction with this lunation encourages us to talk about how we feel, and communication is key to healing family patterns. The New Moon chart also contains the building t-square between Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto.  The challenge is to stay open to extreme feelings coming up, let them move through you, and use them as fuel for change. To prepare for this ramping up of fierce energy, use the New Moon to nourish yourself, soothe your emotional body, and give yourself and your loved ones an extra dose of compassion and nurturing.
