Crocodile Animal-Totems

Animal Totems

Native peoples of many countries have animal spirits that play a very important part in their lives. In Chinese astrology all the signs are animals and in western astrology most of the signs are animals.

By getting to know your animal totem, you can gain insight and understanding of your own life circumstances more clearly, and share in the totem power or 'medicine'. Animal totems manifest a specific kind of energy that will align to forces of the spiritual realm that are influencing your life.

Crocodile

In mythology and symbolism we cannot omit the crocodile , considered to be one of the most base, malignant, treacherous and evil-hearted vertebrates. The crocodile was, to the people on the ancient Near East, a familiar character in many of their common texts. In Egypt the reptile was equated with the crocodile-headed "Sebek" who symbolized viscous passions, deceit, treachery and hypocrisy.

Crocodile is a creature not easily found in bibliography as a totem animal. This is mostly because Crocodiles are fierce, dangerous creatures and most scholars refuse to dig into the real meaning of this obviously scary animal.

Crocodiles are wise hunters, who measure their powers and attack when they thing the time is perfect. Therefore crocodiles are associated with actively Defensive magic. People whose totem animal is a crocodile are patient, wise and powerful witches who actually act in cold blood and wait till they are sure they will succeed. Crocodile totems have the power to ward away evil spirits and bad omens. Crocodile is essentially a peaceful spiritual being with total understanding of the yin and yang of the world. Having crocodile as a spirit animal asks you to nurture your intuition, stay calm in heated situations and to see the greater good of all things. Animal spirit guide Crocodile teaches the art of facing fear and using it as a force to drive out fear.

Crocodile Dream Meaning

To see a crocodile in your dream symbolizes freedom, hidden strength and power. It also forewarns of hidden danger. Someone near you is giving you bad advice and is trying to sway you into poor decisions.
