Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn

On July 4-5, we will be ending a two-year cycle with the full moon penumbral lunar eclipse at 13 degrees in Capricorn. This is the final eclipse on the Capricorn-Cancer axis, with the first having been in mid-July of 2018. This is the culmination of a massive cycle centred around family and security, as well as the feminine and masculine.

Capricorn is the sign of responsibility, and this Full Moon reveals where we’ve fallen into avoidance or procrastination and where we need to step up and take charge. Ultimately, the Capricorn Full Moon calls for emotional responsibility, the ability to respond appropriately when strong feelings get triggered. Stepping away from the drama and pulling our attention inward for solitude and reflection could be the best strategy.

Lunar eclipses magnify the effects of a full moon, bringing about major endings. Because of the axis this eclipse falls on, you may feel some extra stress and discomfort as your home environment and your sense of security (especially around career) gets a little shake-up. In the United States, the eclipse will begin on July 4 at 11:07 PM EDT as the moon starts to slide into the Earth's outer orbit, and end on July 5 at 1:52 AM EDT. The Penumbral will reach its peak on July 5 at 12:29 AM EDT.
