April Monthly Horoscope

April is an action packed month astrologically, with another Full Moon in Libra as well as the big outer planets Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto all turning retrograde. 

The New Moon in Aries is on April 5. It helps us to get hold of ambition and energy to go forth and conquer! Whatever we wish to create or achieve, our driving force and impatience are emphasised under an Aries Moon. Even so, this particular Aries Moon is challenged by Saturn in Capricorn forming a square (90°) aspect. Saturn represents limits, challenges and could have an authoritative impact on youthful, impatient Aries, enforcing a slowdown in growth

 Jupiter goes retrograde on April 10th. It means that whatever area of growth you need to work on is so important, extra time is needed to take stock and make sure everything in order before you continue. You may be tested to make sure you are ready to receive the good fortune, new romance, or increased wealth you seek. Perhaps a challenging behavior like greed or addiction has got out of control. In this case, the Jupiter retrograde months will offer a chance to recognize and admit the problem.

Mercury moves from Pisces to Aries on April 17th, we are less concerned with objective viewpoints and explanations, and more concerned with reaching a decision…quickly! Our thoughts and ideas are pioneering, and we tend to speak more spontaneously and directly with the planet of communication in bold and assertive Aries.

The Libra Moon on April 19th is at the critical 29th degree, right at the sign’s end, marking a strong urge to get something finished. In a Full Moon chart, this is a double whammy, as there is already an emphasis on completion, with a sense of “do or die” or reaching a breaking point. Libra is all about equality, harmony, and balance, and anything standing in the way of that goal’s fulfillment may now need to be addressed.

The Sun moves to Taurus on April 20th and is methodical, sensual, and receptive. The Sun in Taurus  is most active when it is defending or resisting things! As the Sun moves through Taurus when plants take root, our determination and security needs are strong. Taurus is loyal to all that is familiar, and values longevity. The shadow side of Taurus is possessiveness and bullheadedness.

Venus joins Mercury in Aries on April 20th and indicates an impulsive, passionate, extrovert and bold romantic nature. There is a need for constant variety in both your romantic and social lives. You make friends easily and are fond of love and admiration. You make an enthusiastic, lively friend and an energetic colleague. Very easily influenced by the attraction of the opposite sex, We don’t look back with Aries energy. We are not interested in saying sorry or dwelling on the past. It’s a brand new day! It’s time to make things work right now.

Pluto goes retrograde on April 24th. Transiting Pluto retrograde is a time of reflection about power and control in your life. If people have been controlling or manipulating you then now is the time to let them go. If you have been too controlling of others or situations then it is time to let go. This is not a time for power tripping but a time for elimination.

Saturn joins Pluto in Retrograde on April 29th. When Saturn goes retrograde it is a good time to revisit our relationship, work on long term goals, responsibilities and duties, is a time to restructure the way we manifest our reality, and find a new attitude towards obstacles
