June Monthly Horoscope

The eclipse of the Moon in Sagittarius this month on June 5th is the first of three consecutive eclipses ushering us into the heart of summer in the Northern Hemisphere.

Sagittarius is often associated with expansive thinking and bigger plans, some of which may now seem obscured by seemingly smaller issues that just won’t go away during this period. The Moon’s opposition to the Sun Venus conjunction in Gemini emphasises that flexibility is the key to having harmonious relationships, compromise with others, and keep positive in order to move forward.

Mercury begins its retrograde phase on June 18th at 14° Cancer.  Mercury is retrograde three or four times each year. This year we have had Mercury Retrograde in Watery Pisces and now it continues the Water Element theme with Retrograde in Cancer. It is difficult for Mercury retrograde in Cancer to let go of old and unpleasant memories. Enemies from earliest childhood remain enemies because unpleasant events and unkind words are often relived.  

June 21st this year marks the longest day of the year ( in the northern hemisphere), that special moment in the year when the Sun reaches its zenith in the sky and 'stands still' for three days before beginning its descent.

The eclipse of the Sun in Cancer on June 21st represents the second eclipse, occurring at the solstice and officially welcoming summer, the warm center between the two lunar eclipses on either side. The Moon is both in her own sign of Cancer and at the earliest degree of that sign, which makes this a super special Eclipse. To be clear, it’s not a total eclipse, but an annular eclipse, with its characteristic “ring of fire” visible around the outside. There is a desire, within some of us, to ensure that something “too hot to handle” does not come too close.

Neptune moves into Retrograde motion on June 23rd. psychic perception, hunches and dreams become vivid and important to us. We are much more sensitive and our openness is intensified. The reason for this is that our perception is energized and this gives us vision.

Mars moves into Aries on June 28th. Mars feels at home in one of the signs that it rules, Aries, and therefore its power is boosted. Our energy is spontaneous, forward-looking, and even courageous under this influence. Our competitive spirit is well-developed, and our goal is to win! You desire to make a mark on the world, and cut your own path in life. There is an incessant drive for action and accomplishment.
