December Monthly Horoscope

At the beginning of December, Saturn is nearing the end of its two-plus years’ journey through Sagittarius other planetary events in December also support our evolution, starting with the spiritually enhancing Jupiter–Neptune trine on December 2

The Full Moon on the 3rd of December in Gemini, the sign of perception, tests our discernment and calls us into a deeper level of truth and wisdom. Neptune in Pisces will influence this Moon immensely as it closely squares the Gemini Moon and Sagittarius Sun, potentially stirring up confusion and distraction. Are we following our own truth, or are we overly influenced by societies version of truth? It is a time where our own perception can be heavily distorted by fantasy, ideology, judgments or past experiences. Lies and deception, loss and disappointment, theft, scandal and illness are very real possibilities during this two-week moon phase.

Mercury stations retrograde only 8 hours before the full moon to also have a big impact on the full moon. Mercury stationing retrograde conjunct Saturn does mean this full moon is serious business, it will make this Full Moon feel extra heavy.

Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius calls us to realign with the bigger story of our life and our soul’s purpose. Mercury’s conjunction with Saturn can be a helpful reality check if we’ve been out of integrity with our own truth and living someone else’s story. Mercury retrograde 2017 will bring especially bad travel restrictions and delays as well as general bad news and sorrow.

The Sagittarius New Moon on December 18th invites you to plant a seed for an expansive and empowering new vision, and to renew your trust and optimism. In the Northern Hemisphere, the Sagittarius season is when the Sun’s light is at its weakest, leading into the winter solstice (December 21), the longest night of the year. As the last of the fire signs, Sagittarius calls forth our inner light, the spiritual fire that keeps our faith alive and sustains us through the dark of winter.

Saturn enters Capricorn on December 19th, one of the signs it rules, Saturn is dignified and functioning well. Saturn feels right at home in Capricorn. This is a time for turning a critical eye to those of our career choices that don’t accurately reflect our authentic selves. Capricorn is an uphill battle that eventually succeeds. Perseverance is rewarded. The rewards are usually delayed, and that’s the point. The results are long-lasting. With Saturn in Capricorn, we have a sense that we should work hard for what we want if we want it to last, grow, and strengthen.
