Venus in Aquarius
To kick off the month of Love, the lady of Love Venus, of course - is entering the free-spirited sign of Aquarius. This happens right at the start of February, on the 1st and lasts until February 25th.
Out of the clutches of serious Capricorn, this planet can now really play and let loose! Venus is wild and rebellious in unusual Aquarius and her love is freely given to all. Venus in Aquarius sees no differences, whether gender, race or class, and she knows everyone to be her best friend.
When Venus is in Aquarius, our values go from goal-orientated to socially responsible. We want to know how we can help humanity, how we can better society. We’re also looking at ways to break free of any systems that hold us, for the benefit of humankind, Lofty values, yes, but lofty is what Aquarius does best!
After all, there are also four other planets in this precocious sign, adding to the intensely eccentric and unconventional energies around at the moment! With the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn here too, it’s total chaos – within order, of course. Because Aquarius does like to have some structure.
Hence, our relationships will also take on this feel, this energy. We might start looking for new information, for growth, for more freedom and independence. We might sort spending more time with friends, or falling in love with a friend. We might even go from lovers to friends, or vice versa. Everything is upside-down in the world of the Aquarius Venus!
However, the wilder energies of Venus do stabilize as she makes a conjunction to Saturn, planet of rules and restrictions, on February 6th. Venus learns to behave herself, to listen to the rules, and to, most importantly, commit. It doesn’t feel like much fun though, as this meeting can reflect a feeling of lack or insecurity, as if we are unable to reach out and touch someone or get the affection we need. It may feel like the walls are closing in, but really is just a phase. Self-love is important, then, at the beginning of February.
Venus also meets with wayward Uranus in a shocking square on the same day – February 6th - which reflects a sudden need to break free of the restrictions of Saturn, a desire to throw all security and stability right out of the window. However, we might regret giving into this, and need to check ourselves, before we wreck ourselves! This also invites startling changes in both money and love, so we need to be aware – and to be open and flexible.
The rest of the month looks more peaceful - better for a peace-loving planet - as Venus makes a conjunction to growth-orientated Jupiter on February 11th. Here, Venus is totally about spreading the love, feeling generous and abundant to the max! This is an incredibly social time, so it’s important to reach out to your community and your friends, and to connect with others.

Finally, as she connects in yet another conjunction, this time with Mercury, planet of communication, on February 13th, it’s a great idea to get creative with your ideals and aspirations, especially with friend or a lover!
