Full Moon in Leo
February’s Full Snow Moon in Leo is electrifyingly exciting. It brings to climax events set in motion several months ago, in a way that may prove surprising to most of us. The adage that we get what we want, not what we need, is highly pertinent over this period.
See, Leo (and Aquarius, where the Sun, ruler of Leo, sits during this time) is a fixed sign. Fixed energy is stable, unchanging, persistent, committed. It’s also resistant to change, oftentimes stressed when events unfold out of its control. And, seeing as Uranus, the great change-maker, is just one degree away from a perfect square with this Full Moon, change is inevitable.
This makes for shocks that will likely ripple across the fabric of our relationships, our family life, our creative endeavors - anything our heart is invested in.
Whilst we might not be able to always choose our own adventure, we can choose how we respond to the call. Do we throw a diva-like tantrum, so characteristic of proud Leo? Or do we, ever so gracefully, like the Royal Archetype that Leo represents, sail into the unknown, confident that we can handle whatever life throws our way?
The choice is obvious. We are the captains of our own ship. In these storms, we haul up Leo-like strength, ready to face the challenges and enjoy the freedom that comes with whatever is being released from our worlds. For freedom is the ultimate gift of Uranus. The reward for our toils. The jewel in our crown.
What is it that we’re being set free from at this Full Moon? How can we embrace this energy? How can we align our minds - our intellect - represented by Aquarius, with our hearts’ passion - symbolized by Leo?
Decisions may not come easy, as Mercury opposes La Luna. We may whip between what our head says versus what our soul is crying out for. Communication may be wobbly, unless we tune into that powerful liminal space between, where our heart is in full agreement with our logic. Both are relevant.
Adopting an attitude wherein we truly are the Kings and Queens of our own lives, the rulers of our empire, will stand us in good stead. Remaining grounded and present amidst the choices we need to make for the future assures us of success.
Love and friendship are in the firing line now, again asking us to check all of our centers if they’re in agreement. Maybe there’s a middle road we can get to, if we’re wise enough to listen to counsel, both from within as well as without.
We get by with a little help from our friends, yes - but let’s not discount the help from our family and lover(s, too). The whole tribe counts, without forgetting the individual, which is us. Our spark, our light, our path, also counts. When we balance this with the need of the community and our vision for the future, we’ll get it just right.
