January Monthly Horoscope

2021 has finally ended and it looks like 2022 maybe a more fruitful year with Jupiter just having moved into Pisces, empathy towards others will be increased as well as being a great time for healing and regeneration. Be aware that the amplification energies of Jupiter could increase feelings of confusion or being too dogmatic around our beliefs or ideals.

2022 starts off right out the gate with the New Moon in Capricorn occuring on January 2nd. Also Mercury moving into Aquarius on the same day, alongside the trine between Uranus and the New moon, this is a period that you want to lean into.  It brings with it the potential for innovative realization where we have the capacity to think out of the box, beyond our restrictions. This marks the start of our ability to expand our creative awareness far beyond what was previously possible.

The way in which we can proactively work with the energy of Uranus at this Capricorn New Moon on January 2nd is by building freedom and flexibility into our dreams, goals and plans. We need to make plenty of room for surprises and promise ourselves that we will adjust to the surprising situations that will undoubtedly arise as a result of our goal-setting. Above all, we need to ensure that our own liberation is a part of our future goals. That we will be able to express ourselves in the most authentic and unique way in the future to come.

Mercury will retrograde in Aquarius on January 14th and this may motivate you to shift your mindset and rise up in consciousness, as with the progressive ways of Aquarius, your outdated thinking patterns, perspectives and ways of communicating must go! A great time to really reflect on and become more conscious of your daily thoughts, the way you talk to yourself, the way you communicate with others, and the way you envision your future. It will come back into Capricorn on the 26th of January so we will see Mercury come back to Aquarius in February.

The Full Moon on January 17th in sensitive Cancer is one of the most emotionally challenging – and healing – lunations of 2022.  Having such an intense Full Moon so early in the year is a cosmic opportunity to purge and let go of old wounds that may have been holding us back; particularly wounds carried with regards to our inner child, heritage, family and roots. We may be emotionally pulled right back into a past situation and the choice lies within us to ruminate, or recreate. Pluto is linked via a conjunction to the Full Moon, with only one degree of separation. This is an extremely strong aspect, which only grows in power. Pluto, as the archetypical God of the Underworld, is direct at the moment, offering us all the opportunity to evolve or dissolve. To transmute, transform, to regenerate.

A big shift will occur on January 18th with the Nodes of the moon shifting signs into Taurus. This may bring relief from what has been rather chaotic deconstructing of old beliefs, patterns and mental structures of the Gemini/ Sag axis over the last year. Its more about a sense of value and what grounds us and has meaning for us. What really matters and what we attribute value too. Take little incremental steps forward towards a foundation that you can build anything from.

Uranus will station direct also on January 18th bringing a bit of relief to the retrograde energies.  Uranus challenges the status quo and forces both the individual and society to change and, in particular, to break from the past. From the purely Uranian point of view, clinging to the past can only hinder progress. In Taurus we have seen issues with demand and supply issues, monetary changes and adapting our lifestyle by focusing more on what we need rather than what we want.

Aquarius Season begins on January 20th which can make you feel more even-tempered, artistic, sociable, peaceful in your general attitude to life. Outwardly try to present a composed, confident and unruffled attitude and you can open yourself up to new ways of expression and eccentric behaviour. 

Mars enters Capricorn on January 24th and can indicate that you will assert yourself more in a practical, rational, self-controlled, disciplined and efficient manner. Conventional and conservative, more of your energy can be channeled into professional ambition and social advancement.

Venus stations direct in Capricorn on January 29th. The healthy expression of Capricorn lies with integrity, responsibility and commitment. This time has brought greater focus to love, our finances, that challenge us to consider whether we are in integrity with what we value, and whether we are making wise investments.
