New Moon in Leo
The New Moon in passionate Leo on August 4th reminds us to come back to our hearts, to come back to our souls, to come back to our light.
Under this cosmic marriage of the heavenly Luminaries, our task is to remember who we truly are. And then, to live and breathe that truth into the world - boldly and with great courage. There's nothing like the strength that lies in the heart of the Lion(ess). Tuning into this universal Archetype of power and vitality will help us, the individual, find the spark within. The Source of all that is, is pure light. Inside of us is a sacred fragment of that light. The Leo New Moon reminds that although we are Sovereign beings, we are also all divinely connected.
Practical intentions to cultivate over the next several months include opening up to greater self-expression and authenticity. This is our time to explore our unique creative energy, and then to channel it into something that gives us daily joy. Now is the moment to remind ourselves that we are simply little children playing in the sunshine. That we are innocence incarnate. Let's set out to reclaim that innocence, that fun-loving nature that is our birthright. We may even wish to petition the Universe to grace us with our own children - biological or creative - over the next several months until the Full Moon in Leo next year.
Romance, too, comes under the domain of the Lion. How does romance show up in our lives? Are we allowing precious time spent simply being with the ones we adore - platonic or otherwise? Do we give ourselves the luxury to spoil and indulge those closest to our hearts? Or are we so involved with daily life that we've forgotten to cherish our beloveds? To hold them close and remind them how great they are. How seen they are. How valid they are. Are we doing this for ourselves? Let's expand our hearts to include our own precious souls in this light and love, this big-hearted, expansive generosity that is the hallmark of Leo.
A Leo New Moon is also great fun. This one even more so as it's linked by a sextile to bountiful, curious Jupiter in Gemini and action-packed Mars, also in the same sign. This means that our wishes can take flight and be blessed. There is a wide square to Pluto, but it’s already passing. The trauma is there, but a good reminder is that in order to find our light, we have to be willing to gaze into the dark. This is where the light gets in. This is how we become whole. Not by hiding our shame or guilt, our shadow. But by exposing it and owning it. By owning our drama, our pride, our ego and acknowledging that this is part of the story, part of our movie. We are, after all, just human. But we are also gods. Let us never forget that.
