Solar Eclipse in Aries
A hybrid Eclipse is upon us on March 29th. With the Luminaries in the sign of the Warrior and the Moon’s Nodes in the signs of service-oriented Pisces and Virgo, this is an Eclipse with mixed energies, where bold service to something greater than ourselves is encouraged.
A supercharged New Moon , it bids us to go boldly where we’ve never gone before. To put on our boots of courage, our armor of bravery and to don our sword of confidence.
But what’s a Warrior without a cause? A battle to fight for? A goal to aim towards?
Primarily, we need to step into a space of leadership. In order to do that, we need to ensure our foundations - our health, family, home, and spiritual wealth - are robust. Only then can we root to rise. Only then do we have the safety needed to move forward. Observing children, we’re reminded that to be able to explore the world fearlessly, our base needs to be secure.
Mars, the ruler of this Eclipse, is still ensconced in the sign of safety-oriented Cancer.. Here, the General of the Cosmic Army resents having to stay behind to tend to domestic duties. Yet, this is exactly what’s worth protecting and defending: our home(land), our people, our safety, our tender hearts.
Our invitation during this intense and fiery cosmic moment is to determinedly work towards building our nest, slowly, carefully, cautiously, all whilst allowing our intuition to guide the way.
Mars’ trine to Saturn and Neptune assures us of a vision to work towards, of our persistence, determination, and ability to stick to the task. Whether in work, play, or our personal life, our new beginnings need to be founded on a bedrock of responsibility - both for ourselves and for the ones we care about, for the life that we wish to create.
The Nodes in Pisces and Virgo remind us, above all, to balance productivity with flow. To rid ourselves of past patterns of over-control, anxiety, over-planning, and perfectionism. To move towards trust, faith, and surrender.
This Eclipse is also in conjunction with retrograde Mercury, which temporarily delays decisions or at least has us potentially acting with a touch too much haste. Overconfidence is not a good look on anyone. Moving with care, some caution, while not losing momentum seems wise. Blazing a trail - going where we’ve never gone before - can be tempered with some thought and reflection. Impulsive actions, while exciting, may not serve. The bravest Warriors are the ones who are wise, who feel the fear, feel the hesitation, and proceed accordingly.
The overarching theme of this Solar Eclipse, this portentous new beginning, is the alignment of our own desires, our own path, in service to the greater good, the collective, and the love of home, hearth, and roots.
