Houses

The 12 Houses of astrology are symbolic of the all the departments that make up human life. The planets and zodiac signs will manifest themselves most strongly in the sphere of life represented by the House in which they fall on your chart. Houses are not "energies" like the elements or planets, nor do they color the expression of energies like the zodiac signs do. The houses are WHERE these energies are most likely to manifest. The houses are the fields of experience, not the experience themselves.

Saturn in 7th House

There are a few parts of the chart that we very easily externalize, and this is one of them. What we push to the fringes of our energy field as “this isn’t me” “I’m not selfish/angry/grounded/insert other random qualities here,” then is on the very outside of our energy field. That’s the first thing that others come into contact with because it’s on the outside of you… so what shows up in this part of our astrology chart that represents the “other” holds a lot of secrets about what we can reclaim as part of ourselves. In fact, relationships partially exist so that we can see what needs to be reintegrated, reincorporated into ourselves so we can arrive at a state of wholeness.

In a traditional, typical astrology reading, you may find that this is a very sorrowful, disappointing and constricting placement for love and relationships. However, there is a lot more to this that can be gained and can be worked with, depending on the consciousness through which you are looking at it.

Whether it’s expecting someone to take care of you, casting out responsibility onto your partner for when something happens in your relationships, looking for someone to blame in your business partnerships or friendships, perhaps attracting in situations that feel karmic in some way… these are all manifestations of this energy. The key with this is to take the responsibility back, to look at your part of things when a relationship of any kind goes awry… and sometimes the responsibility lies in the loyalty you unnecessarily gave it, and that’s okay too.

You may be overcoming some bad habits from other lifetimes in relationships as well… There is a cycle or a loop that you seem to repeat, whether it’s avoiding real love, choosing the wrong person or staying too long. This is the cycle that Saturn has called you to correct and likely will take you through a few situations that look exactly the same until you learn it. When you do, there’s a whole new level of growth, commitment and integration to be found within ALL relationships~ romantic, platonic, familial with boundaries that are sustainable, and people still let into your heart.

Saturn exalts here, which gives you the gift of discernment, decision making and deliberation. You can make careful, exacting choices in the right timing and the right rhythm, easily and naturally and you have such a natural sense of patience. Undoubtedly, especially once you come through karma, weightedness and tests that this placement comes with, you’re able to be a voice of reason in the lives of others and perhaps a counselor to friends (or clients!) in need. There’s an ability to assess what is going on in the lives of others in a very fair and balanced way that is a natural strength for you.

Nonviolent communication, being in partnerships of any kind and engaging with the learning process that can be, and shadow work (looking into your own darkness to heal what you can and to cleanse the rest) are some practices that can benefit you.
