Saturn in Sagittarius

Your Saturn journey is the path of the initiate. Skepticism and cynicism can sometimes follow this Saturn on the path of higher knowledge so you may find yourself without belief in exchange for empirical fact. You likely believe nothing unless you see it for yourself, either in your research in early life or intuitive senses in later life, which is actually quite smart and leads you into the path of knowing as you are governed by the need to know for sure.

It’s common to grow up in a belief system that doesn’t quite fit where you’re not allowed to ask questions, like strict religiosity or strict atheism and being discouraged to ask questions or to express any doubt or disbelief. Either way, you find yourself veering off of the path that you grew up with, including the shame, guilt and fear that may have been downloaded into you via that belief system.

This archetype shows up as the “disagreeable seeker.” Due to a childhood steeped in a strict morality, perhaps a belief in a vengeful, wrathful and angry God who wants to put you in a prison for eternity if you disobey him. Inversely this could show up as a belief in completely abandoning your own inner authority in favor of external authority in whatever form it shows up, deified or not. It is crucial to deprogram the belief system you grew up with and to step into your own search for knowledge, freely.

In school, in becoming an expert in your field and in pursuing the deeper mysteries and natural laws of the universe, you may experience some constriction, disillusionment and pain. You may really resonate with a teacher one day and then see an aspect of them the next day that you disagree with… and ultimately that is because you are both supposed to accept your position as your own teacher, and perhaps eventually once you traverse a few Saturnian lessons, you may rise up into the position of teaching others. You may feel as though you’ve been teaching for lifetimes once you slip into it.

Ultimately the highest possible expression of this placement is both being very knowledgeable in terms of intellectual capacity and pursuits, but also in the potential of truly experiencing things like gnosis, faith, optimism, the zero point field, the still point within… It's likely common for you to do a lot of seeking intellectually, but when you bring that knowledge into your body and into ritual, prayer and your own spiritual practice, which is wholly individual how that looks, it’s a game changer. This allows you to release the nihilism and hopelessness that can sometimes shroud your worldview.
