Full Moon in Sagittarius

The Full Moon in the sign of the Cosmic Archer is one that reflects an air of urgency. A journey is coming to an end. One that’s been full of twists and turns, surprises and slowdowns. One that’s ultimately given us the experiences we’ve needed, although perhaps not always wanted. Sagittarius is the sign of the Philosopher. No matter how challenging the situation, this is one Archetype that manages to always find the silver lining. There’s always something to learn.

So, what have we learnt in these months gone by? What experiences have we had - easy or challenging - that have shaped us into the Hero(ine) that we are now? Can we see the moral of the story? There’s a happy ending in sight, though, to be fair, we might still need to slay a dragon or two, whether psychological or physical. See, Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, mythical Hades, is tightly trine the Sun and sextile the Moon. Even these easy aspects to the generational planets can pack a punch. They’re hard to start with, but usually have a smooth landing.

The question to ask ourselves now is what needs to be shifted, purged, released, and surrendered for us to get to our happy ending? What final hurdle needs to be overcome before we feel empowered?

For some of us, it may be that our relationships need to be, well, renegotiated. For some of us, it’s a misaligned career path. Perhaps it’s old beliefs that don’t serve us. Or maybe it’s the need to release the attachment to being right, which is always the shadow of Sagittarius.

Jupiter, the expansive ruler of this sign, sits at the anaretic degree of Taurus. He’s come to his last stop. He’s about to move on into variety, change-loving Gemini. In Taurus, he’s joined by a dignified and strong Venus, lady of love. It’s a Full Moon that smacks of excess. Of unbridled hedonism. Of reckless pleasure and sensual delight. Should we hold back? Well, only we can decide that. Sagittarius, after all, isn’t known as the sign of excess for nothing. So yes, perhaps we need to give ourselves the gift of pleasure. We’ve had somewhat of an arduous slog through Taurus with Jupiter expanding the energies of this placid sign. Growth has been slow, but there’s been growth. Rewards are in order. Being at the last degree, we have the full maturity of his sign to play with.

Relationships, material stability, embodied, somatic work - these may all be the underlying themes to our personal Full Moon story. It’s time now to send it off in style and await the new chapter ahead of us. The new journey. Uranus, as usual, influences this Full Moon by his proximity to Jupiter and Venus. Our experiences could perhaps end on a surprising note. But it’s nothing that we haven’t come to expect. The ability to adapt to sweeping change is etched into our cells now. We’ve got this.
