Camomile

Camomile

Flora: Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla)

As an archetypal herb, chamomile often corresponds with the psyche’s impulse toward soothing, repair, and gentle closure—inviting the nervous system and the inner world to soften. In a more psychologically keyed view, it may be helpful when feelings feel “hot,” sticky, or hard to metabolize, and when rest and emotional perspective are needed.

Four areas of life that may be affected:

1) Stress & coping: greater capacity to downshift, self-soothe, and interrupt spirals.2) Sleep & recovery: improved bedtime rhythm or a sense of emotional “decompression.”3) Relationships: less reactivity; more warmth, forgiveness, and softer communication.4) Personal boundaries: support for releasing guilt-driven overgiving while still choosing kindness.
