New Moon in Gemini
June’s New Moon in Gemini brings to mind verses of Bob Marley’s song, “Don’t worry about a thing… ’cause every little thing is gonna be alright.”
Nevertheless, we might not feel as if every little thing is going to be alright. And although Gemini isn’t generally the sign of the quintessential worrier - that’s usually Virgo’s domain - our anxiety could still run high. This cerebral energy’s thoughts run often and are many. Gemini is, basically, an information highway, especially with the recent entry of Uranus here. The Cosmic Twins don’t always know how or when to stop the flood of information. Discernment doesn’t exist in their world. Chasing one thought after the other, tangling them up and entertaining themselves (and others) with clever insights is where the party’s at.
Except sometimes, parties can get a little tiring.
The ideas that flood in now are too many. We need to pick and choose which ones to execute. We can’t do everything. Often, too many cooks spoil the broth, as they say. Picking one or two solid gems from the mental smorgasbord is the sweet spot. As with all New Moons, moving intention into action is what’s most needed, whatever the new journey happens to be.
Gemini energy is usually light and fluffy. It’s surface-level. It takes in information at lightning speed and spits it out again, moving quickly onto the next thing. This gives Gemini joy. A master of many subjects and talents, it’s the most adaptable of signs. We can become anything we want - if we put our minds to it over these next few months.
Yet, there’s a caveat this time. With the ruler of Gemini - Mercury - tangled in a square with Saturn, it’s not enough to simply brush past something and move on. With this aspect, we need to take things a little more seriously. To take ourselves more seriously. Getting truly stuck into a task, project, thought or endeavour leads to long-lasting success.
Make no mistake, it won’t be easy. Nothing ever is when Saturn’s involved. We may doubt ourselves, our minds, our intelligence, our capability. We may go back to the drawing board many times over, puzzling out the next steps. We may even give up altogether, projecting only catastrophe and problems into the future.
Thus, our challenge is to guard our thoughts vigilantly. To catch those criticisms when they get out of control. To remind ourselves that we do, in fact, know enough. Of course, we have limitations - who doesn’t? We’re only human, after all. These limitations do not make us failures. We try, we fail, we try again. We stay focused. We remind ourselves why we embarked on this in the first place, be it a journey, a learning, a relationship, a job, or a project.
By the time we finish - give it about six months - we’ll be proud of how far we’ve come.
