Full Moon in Sagittarius
Junes Full Moon in the sign of the Cosmic Archer illuminates the concept of travelling.
Yet, travelling feels too small a word to capture the vastness of the idea. Sagittarius energy is about the journey—whether that’s an internal one or an external adventure.
And this journey, for better or for worse, is now coming to an end.
Ruled by Jupiter, newly arrived in Cancer, it’s a lunation that also carries a sense of wandering. Sagittarius is known to roam far and wide, while Cancer is more often ascribed the role of homebody and caretaker.
Nevertheless, unbeknown to most, in ancient astrology, the Moon was closely linked to travel—governing the oceans, movement, wandering, journeys, and most especially, sailing. Thus, Cancer, as the sign ruled by the Moon, also embodies the archetype of the Traveller and the Wanderer. The Crab carries its home on its back, and so we are invited to reflect: What and where is home, truly? Must it be a place? Do we have to root? And if we choose to, how can we still preserve the Spirit of the Explorer—the archetype Sagittarius most fully represents?
Simple.
We explore within.
We go on a Spiritual Pilgrimage—one that leads us to the deepest treasure: the treasure of our innermost soul. There are riches to be found here.
Reflecting on the spiritual voyage we’ve recently taken—or perhaps, it’s been a literal one—can help us see what has worked, and what hasn’t. Full Moons are, as always, an invitation to release and renew.
Sagittarian energy also brings us truth. It offers the wisdom of lived experience, balanced with the knowledge we’ve gaine, highlighted by the Sun in Gemini. There’s no more skirting the facts. No more exaggerating the tale. It’s time to balance what’s factual with what we’ve come to deeply know.
With La Luna trine Mars, there’s an energising effect to this lunation. We’re eager to implement the lessons. To embark, perhaps, on a new experience. To take action on our instincts. With Jupiter conjunct Mercury, we’ve got both our rational intellect and our philosophies aligned.
Yet, with Saturn and Neptune forming squares, we must be careful. It’s vital we don’t delude ourselves, or build castles in the sky. A reality check is needed—one that’s balanced with vision. Projecting catastrophe into the future doesn’t serve us. Nor does clinging to an unrealistic dream. This Full Moon calls us to live in the here and now—to tune into our intuition and to listen out for signs from the Gods. And there will be signs. We just need to be awake to them.
We must trust ourselves enough to walk through the doors swinging open before us.
The optimistic faith and innate luck of Sagittarius is a gift we can draw upon now.
After all, Sagittarius isn’t known as “God’s Favourite Child” for nothing.
