Lunar Eclipse in Virgo

Eclipse season closes with a South Node Lunar Eclipse in detail-oriented Virgo. This will be the last time this particular energetic signature is felt for another two decades. It is the curtain call, the final chapter, the closing credits of over a year-long story.

This story has not necessarily been easy, but as with all Eclipses, it has revealed where the cracks lie and what is calling for balance and integration. With the South Node in Virgo, old patterns around perfectionism, overanalysis, neurosis, obsession with details, and most notably mental and physical health have risen to the surface for review. Opposite the Dragon’s Tail sits the North Node, the Dragon’s Head, in Pisces - the sign of surrender, faith, and divine intervention.

Which area of our lives has been highlighting these themes most strongly? Where have we felt the push-pull between control and trust, planning and flow? We cannot ignore Virgo’s instinct to plot the course ahead - it serves a purpose. Yet at some point, we are asked to lean into the unknown, whether in relationship, vocation, or our vision for the future.

This eclipse also offers one of the final opportunities to break free from unwanted habits and hard-to-shake addictions. Virgo energy yearns for health and wellbeing, but can sometimes neglect to establish the systems needed to truly support it. Now is the moment to clean house, so to speak - to make space for better, more constructive routines.

Eclipses have a way of sweeping the slate clean, so it is not necessarily about setting intentions, but rather trusting that whatever clears out is meant to be released. It’s karmic, after all. Sextile Jupiter, there is a small reprieve - the potential for growth even amidst the intensity Eclipses are known for. With Virgo’s ruler, Mercury, retrograde and debilitated in Pisces, reflection is far more valuable than action, for now. Past patterns arise so that we may understand them in a new, more intuitive way. Prayer and meditation are particularly supportive now. Imperative, really.

Mercury’s link to Venus helps soothe the mind, blending thought with compassion. It allows us to reflect lovingly on what is being left behind, to let go with deep grace and meaningful forgiveness. We are invited to step away from the urge to criticise - ourselves or others - and to release impossibly high standards. We come to recognise that we have done the very best we could, even amidst the inevitable confusion offered by retrograde Mercury. When we stop grasping for facts, truth arises - a deeper truth. A knowing.

Eclipse energies are impactful for far longer than a typical Full or New Moon. Our dreamworld is more active now, making it important to slow down and give changes time to settle. Sleep, rest, and detox - especially with Virgo energy running strong - are deeply supportive. Now’s the moment to purge and cleanse, to make space for spiritual growth and insight. The answers will come when we give ourselves a second to simply be. To breathe.
