Chakras

When we talk about the 7 chakras we should always keep in mind the scheme of our microcosm. Today every spiritual seeker knows that there are seven main chakras - also described as energy centers or wheels of light - but little is known about their deeper spiritual and metaphysical significance. An important point that needs to be understood is that the very same energy vibrates on all of these seven energy levels. However, when this energy reaches the energy centers, it is being transformed accordingly, so that different qualities of that particular wheel of light are attained

Root Chakra

The first energy center is located between the anus and the sex organs. In the Eastern tradition known as Muladhara Chakra, this energy center is the seat of the Kundalini energy. It is capable of tapping into the planetary Kundalini energy that emanates from the center of the Earth.

Spiritual growth doesn't mean just having pleasant and blissful moments. As a rule, spiritual growth requires cleansing of the unpleasant hurtful feelings buried in our psyche. And by awakening our chakras, including the root chakra Muladhara, we help bring some of these half-conscious painful moments of our past to the surface of our consciousness, so they can be cleansed and consciously assimilated.

The Root chakra has four types of energies that determine the level of consciousness attainable in this center. These energies are expressed as an impulse for security (money, spouse, children, friends, house), a sexual desire, a need for food and drink and a need for sleep (sluggishness, laziness, dullness, inertness). To the clairvoyant's eye, Muladhara is divided into four orange quadrants which look as if sealed with an equilateral cross. The prana accumulated in the root energy center cleanses the body from the waste materials.
